Wanted Fugitives


Unsurprisingly ranking as the most wanted fugitive in the world is Osama Bin Laden. Currently being actively hunted by both the US and Libyan Governments the leader of the Sunni Islamist movement Al Qaeda orchestrated the terrorist attacks on the world trade center 11th September 2001. He currently has a bounty of $25million on his head.

The most wanted man in Africa is former businessman Felicien Kabuga. He is charged under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, crimes against humanity and genocide for bankrolling the purchase of the weapons used in the slaughter of almost one million men, women and children in Rwanda during 100 days of terror by Hutu Militias attempting to exterminate the tutsi population in 1984 and is believed to be in hiding in Kenya. The US Government put a $5million reward on his head in 2002.

Ratko Mladic, The former chief of staff in the Bosnian Serb army during the Bosnian war, 1992-1995 is wanted on charges of Genocide and Crimes against humanity. During his reign in excess of 7000 Muslim men and boys were slaughtered at a Srebrenica death camp.

Aribert Heim, a former SS doctor during World War 2 at a Nazi concentration camp is believed to still be alive and is one of the last Nazi fugitives still in hiding. He is wanted by both the German authorities and as well as those of his native Austria. Heim who seemingly disappeared in 1962 and was known as ‘Doctor Death’ has a $485,000 reward on his head.

Armad Muhammad Harun, Sudan’s Minister of state for Humanitarian Affairs is wanted by the International Criminal Courts for crimes against humanity and war crimes. Having been appointed as head of the Darfur security service in 2003 he is charged with recruiting and arming thousands of militants who deliberately attacked civilian targets during the Darfur conflict. Sudan currently refuses to surrender him and he remains in post.

Joaquin Guzman, mexico’s most powerful drugs trafficker and also known as El chapo or shorty and head of the Mexican sinola drugs cartel is wanted by the US Government and has a $5million dollar reward on his head. His control over trafficking corridors into the US through which he smuggles Columbian cocaine has left thousands dead.
